The Analyst Position FAQ
I've seen the typical organizational "pyramid" charts for consulting firms: partners at the top, associates in the middle and lots of analysts at the bottom. What do all these analysts do at PHB?
First of all, don't confuse PHB with the typical management consulting firm: we are not a pyramid. At PHB, our ratio of partners, associates and analysts is 1:1:1, and our project teams generally maintain a similar configuration. Our analysts are involved in developing substantial pieces of analytical work for client deliverables - not making copies and sorting documents. The nature of PHB's work is such that there is not much "grunt" work. PHB's clients tend to hire us to solve substantial problems in a limited amount of time. Our average cost per hour for a project team is quite high, so clients don't hire us for "routine" work. We get the best parts of projects at key times.
