Michael E. Burton
Director

Michael Burton has more than ten years of experience in the economic and financial analysis of liability and damage issues arising in business litigation. He is an expert on antitrust, intellectual property rights, business valuation and breach of contract. In these areas, Dr. Burton has provided litigation support, including the statistical analysis of data, the estimation of damages and the preparation of expert testimony. His antitrust work has included the economic analysis of competition in several industries, including health care, retail, semiconductors, publishing, energy, transportation and coal. He also has provided expert testimony in the area of business valuation.

Before joining PHB, Dr. Burton served as an economist for the Economic Analysis Corporation, where he worked on antitrust litigation for various industries. As a consultant for Pan Heuristic, he worked on projects addressing U.S. energy security and military/strategic defense issues.

Dr. Burton holds a B.A. in public policy analysis and economics from Michigan State University and an M.A. and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
