
Mr. Butler has built a distinguished record consulting in the areas of hazardous waste, environmental insurance, asbestos, product liability and investment analysis. In addition to testifying as an expert witness at trial on these issues, he has testified before both houses of Congress. A significant portion of his practice involves advising clients on settlement of both insurance coverage disputes and hazardous waste/Superfund matters. While principally working for policyholders, he has been involved in some of the largest environmental insurance settlements with Lloyd's of London and domestic insurers. Mr. Butler has also advised clients on the management of environmental liabilities and on business opportunities in the environmental service sector.
Prior to joining PHB, Mr. Butler worked with the Environmental Protection Agency, the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Health Organization.
Mr. Butler received a B.A. from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in chemistry from Harvard University.
