Henry R. Linden

Henry Linden is an internationally recognized expert in energy technology, economics, policy and resource assessment and in energy-related environmental issues. He has served as president of the Institute of Gas Technology, founding president of the Gas Research Institute, interim president and CEO of the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and interim chairman and CEO of the IIT Research Institute. He has also served on the IIT faculty since 1955 and now holds a chair in energy and power engineering and management.

Dr. Linden has been a director of Reynolds Metals Company, Sonat Inc. and UGI Corporation and currently serves on the boards of the AES Corporation, a leading global power company, Centennial Holdings, Inc., a venture capital fund manager, and Proton Energy Systems, Inc., a manufacturer of hydrogen generators. He has consulted for gas pipeline and electric utility companies; served on many federal advisory bodies dealing with energy policy, technology and regulation beginning with the Kennedy administration; held a presidential appointment during the Ford administration; and authored or co-authored more than two hundred publications and twenty-seven patents.

He holds a B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, an M.Ch.E. from Polytechnic University and a Ph.D. from the Illinois Institute of Technology, all in chemical engineering.
