Susan L. Pope
Principal
Susan Pope's background and experience are in economic, regulatory and public policy analysis. For several years, Dr. Pope has been helping clients develop business and regulatory strategies to respond to the restructuring of electricity markets. She has been closely involved in the development of detailed plans for implementing a competitive wholesale generation market within the New York Power Pool and has also contributed to the development of market-based energy, capacity and transmission pricing systems for California. Dr. Pope has performed several detailed analyses of the impact of market and regulatory changes on the value of electric utility assets. These studies have required estimates of energy and capacity prices and the development of consistent economic models of the operation of restructured electricity markets.
Dr. Pope also has experience in developing economic analyses and estimating damages for litigation matters involving price discrimination, breach of contract and patent infringement.
Before joining PHB, Dr. Pope was an associate in research at Harvard Business School. She holds an A.B. in applied mathematics from Harvard/Radcliffe and a Ph.D. in business economics from Harvard University.
